Personal Representative Property Responsibilities...

So, you've been appointed as Personal Representative of the estate by a Colorado court. You've been advised by your attorney and now realize you have the responsibility to:

  • Collect the assets of the estate.
  • Prepare an inventory of the estate.
  • Prepare accountings to the beneficiaries of the estate.
  • Sell property to pay estate liabilities and/or distribute proceeds to heirs.

The weight of everything that has to be done, hits you like a ton of bricks. In addition to dealing with your own life, you now have all of these added responsibilities. There are so many things to do.

How will you have enough time deal with all of this stuff, especially if you don't live in Colorado? How much is the real estate worth and how long will it take to sell? How much is everything else worth? How will you decide what to keep, what to give away or throw away? How long will it take to get all of this settled?

These are all legitimate questions and we understand that you might be feeling just a little bit overwhelmed.

That's why we are here to help you deal with the burden of estate property. We can help you get some of your life back and return to normal faster. Let's get together and just talk about it.

Even if you don't use any of our services, we can help you decide what to do with some of your property. Maybe the estate is too small to have a full blown estate sale, so maybe a small garage sale would work, or maybe you could give some stuff to local charities. Whatever it takes to get it done, we can give you some ideas.

If you decide you want more than just our counseling, we can help relieve your burden even more with our many other services:

Thanks again for all your help with Mom's place! There's no way we could've done all of the work by ourselves.
